Summer Vacation at the Whidbey Wayfarer
I've just returned from my Summer Holiday on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound. Set just north of Seattle, Whidbey is a writers paradise with its rocky beaches, interesting characters, excellent food and moody weather. Just a thirty minute ferry ride from Mukilteo.
While I was visiting, I had the good fortune of staying at the Whidbey Wayfarer. It is run by my sister Kelly and her husband Rich. They have lived on Whidbey for seven years and are starting to raise Alpaca's on the island. The stay was delightful. Kelly and Rich have made the cottage so homey it was hard to leave!
I wrote every morning and beach combed every afternoon. I will post some of my finds. In the meantime, if you want to learn more about Whidbey Island click here.
